This month we are teaming up with local NYC coffee shop THE ELK to support two of our favorite charities World Central Kitchen and Apex for Youth. THE ELK is more than a West Village coffee shop and general store, it is a hub for community. A place where people make meaningful connections and form relationships. Brought together by a shared appreciation of coffee, THE ELK community has become a space to form friendships, adopt pets, learn something new, to support and be supported, and even find love! We feel a little less alone when we are in community, and we are stronger when we join hands.
In celebration of community and AAPI Heritage month, we invite you to join us in supporting World Central Kitchen (whose vital work feeds others in crisis) and Apex for Youth (which supports underserved Asian and immigrant youth through mentoring and educational programs). Here’s how it works:
Donate and learn more about World Central Kitchen at wck.org and Apex for Youth at apexforyouth.org.
In a continuation of our #WalkWithPurpose series, over the next few weeks we will share stories from THE ELK: team members, customers and from the Founder Claire Chan herself. These individual stories show us how a simple love of coffee can bring people together and form a beautiful tapestry that we call community.
